DOMAINE JACQUES PRIEUR 🇫🇷🤩😍

DOMAINE JACQUES PRIEUR 🇫🇷🤩😍

DOMAINE JACQUES PRIEUR
It would be an understatement to claim that Domaine Jacques Prieur’s vineyard holdings are great. The domaine is the only property in Burgundy to own vineyards in five of the region’s most famous Grand Cru vineyards: Le Montrachet, Le Corton, Les Echézeaux, Le Musigny and Le Chambertin. The domaine holds vineyards in 17 other prestigious appellations for a total of 51 acres under vine.
Founded in 1956, today the domaine is owned by the charming, understated Edouard Labruyère. Pristine vineyards are impeccably maintained to produce fruit of exquisite quality. The winery and domaine have been undergoing renovation since the Labruyère family purchased the domaine and today the winery has facilities equal to the best in the world.
Each parcel is vinified separately to reveal its essential character. The winemaker is the remarkable, highly respected Nadine Gublin, named “Winemaker of the Year” in 1997 by the Revue du Vin de France, the country’s leading wine journal.

Domaine Jacques Prieur Beaune 1er Cru 'Clos de la Feguine' Monopole 2010
The red wines harvested in the middle and to the south of the Beaune territory are tannic and powerful; they are generally dark in colour, and their aromas are both gamey and fruity (berries). The wines harvested in the north have a less intense colour and are beautifully supple. Grèves wines are, for many wine lovers, the great wine of Beaune par excellence. The name of this climat comes from the brilliant mixture of ochre and small stones (gravel) in the soil. A fine and racy wine, it develops intense notes of blackcurrant combined with a touch of fine spices. Much more powerful, the Marconnets and Clos du Roi climats produce wines for a long cellaring. Les Bressandes, Cent-Vignes and Les Fèves are fine and balanced. Finally, Cras, grown in stony soil, is fleshy and powerful.

Domaine Jacques Prieur Gevrey Chambertin 2012
Wine Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru, 2012 from Domaine Jacques Prieur is made from Pinot Noir grapes grown in the vineyard class Premiers Crus on rich limestone soils.
Weather conditions in 2012 demonstrated how they determine future harvest. Cold winter and spring frosts, large temperature fluctuations and severe storms, mold and mildew on grape shoots made 2012 the most difficult for winemakers in France over the past decade. Neobilnye flowering led to unusually low yields. However, due to several warm summer berries at the time of the collection reached the desired degree of maturity. Pinot Noir is harvested by hand and separated from the ridges.
